The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency and the food assistance arm of the United Nations. In 2008 alone, WFP provided 3.9 million metric tons of food to 102.1 million people in 80 countries. For all of them, whether survivors of natural disasters or victims of conflicts, the food delivered to them through the efforts of WFP Logistics provided a bridge to the future.

Logistics is at the core of WFP operations. WFP Logistics uses a challenging and complex supply-chain process from procurement to distribution to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most, on time. Whether via cargo ship or cargo plane or via donkey, camel or elephant, WFP Logistics rises to the challenge of ensuring that no location is too remote, no obstacle is too great.

In addition, the responsibilities of WFP Logistics as the Global Cluster Lead continue to enable a more coordinated overall humanitarian response, and an increased ability to identify and address gaps in services in new and ongoing emergencies.

This DELIVER Portal has been designed as a one-stop entry point into the ongoing operations and services offered by WFP Logistics. Humanitarian partners can also easily transact so WFP Logistics can purchase, store and transport the relief items they need.
